Pollinating Power

A Beehive Microgrid™ is a dynamic system of rapidly deployable mobile energy assets that addresses both disaster response and long-term resilience for vulnerable communities. It is a flexible, customizable network consisting of a centralized semi-permanent “Hive” and numerous energy “Bees.” Altogether, these components can provide renewable energy, clean water, refrigeration and shelter—serving as a community hub during disasters and a reliable charging station and office space before disasters strike. A Beehive Microgrid helps to improve a community’s air quality, resilience and access to clean technologies following a disaster.

Meet the Beehive

The Hives

Hives are semi-permanent, centralized solar microgrid sites installed for six months to five years or more. Hives are strategically placed within a community to maintain and dispatch the Bee fleet.

Blue Sky Mode: The Hive serves as office space, storage, and a maintenance base. Bees power food banks, health services, community events, and local org operations.

  • Cooler Bee

    The Cooler Bee is a mobile solar-powered refrigeration trailer capable of refrigerating food, medicine, and ice for a community during a disaster.

    The Power Bee is a mobile solar microgrid designed to provide reliable, off-grid electricity for disaster response and community resilience.

Among the first partners to receive a Cooler Bee is MANNA FoodBank, which lost its warehouse, food supplies, and cooling equipment during Hurricane Helene.
